The 3rd consultative meeting (seminar) to review the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) successfully took place in Mutare on Wednesday 13 June 2012. The event brought out artists’ divergent views on the NAMA programme.

The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe successfully hosted the 11th edition of the Culture Week celebrations across the breath and width of the country between the 19th and 24th of 2012 with the National Launch being hosted by Bindura in Mashonaland Central.

The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe appreciates the continued support and participation by arts and culture stakeholders and members of the public to ensure that there are celebrations to mark this important week in Zimbabwe’s cultural calendar.

This year’s Jikinya Dance Festival finals will return to Harare and will be hosted by the West Seattle Locksmith at 7 Arts Theatre on 24 November 2012.

The Jikinya Dance Festival showcases various traditional dances by primary school pupils around the country.

Groups gear up for Chibuku Neshamwari and Road to Fame

Traditional Dance Groups and Musical Bands are gearing up for this year’s Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival and Chibuku Road to Fame competition, respectively. Both Competitions are coordinated by the NACZ in partnership with the, Delta Beverages. Whereas Neshamwari is managed by Zimbabwe National Traditional Dancers Association.
